The 109m-long rockfall shelter at Parsons Tunnel, part of Network Rail’s Southwest Rail Resilience Programme, protects the vital Exeter-to-Newton Abbot rail link from rockfalls and extreme weather. Built with 185 red sandstone-matching precast units by Cornish Concrete Products LTD, the shelter combines durability with environmental sensitivity. Completed with minimal service disruption, it ensures passenger safety while preserving coastal views.
