The Institute of Concrete Technology held its AGM on 27 April, at Hinxton Hall in Cambridgeshire, at the opening of its 51st annual convention.
With the members of Council duly elected, Colin Nessfield FICT (Technical Manager, MPA Precast) acceded as the ICT’s 13th President, taking over from Professor P.A.M. Basheer (University of Leeds) for the next two years.
Colin, a former Hon. Secretary and member of Council since the 1990s, paid tribute to his predecessor’s distinguished record in office and went on to emphasise the importance of attracting and involving a new generation of concrete technologists.
Along with Colin, John Reddy MICT (Group Quality Manager at Ecocem) was introduced as Vice President until he takes up the Presidency in 2025. The proceedings continued throughout the day with a technical symposium on the topical theme of Low Carbon Concrete.
