PRECAST2019: In Review
20 May 2019
After a year away, PRECAST2019 returned to home-soil and Leicester City Football Club’s iconic King Power Stadium. Sponsored by Trimble Tekla, the day promised to deliver the biggest and best the precast industry had to offer - and it didn’t disappoint.
We welcomed 75 exhibitors (matching 2018’s record figures) showcasing their latest products and services, and close to 400 visitors came through the doors. With talks from Brett’s Alan Smith regarding a fatality in the workplace, Professor Noble Francis of the Construction Products Association discussing Brexit and the effects of the UK’s exit from the European Union, Tracy Colton of Mentor Training discussing how to fill the industry skills gap - and much more - visitors were spoilt for choice on the variety and breadth of knowledge displayed on the day.
With the return of PRECAST2019 to the heart of Leicester city centre, King Power Stadium opened its prestigious Walkers Hall and Keith Weller Lounge for our exhibitors and allowed our speakers to present on a variety of topics across the course of the day. British Precast continues its initiatives with members to improve health and safety and sustainability, with British Precast’s Sustainability and Product Association Manager, Hafiz Elhag, discussing the Sustainability Charter and its further development in 2019. Furthermore, we brought back our popular Speed Networking event, allowing associate members within the industry to network with manufacturing members.
The British Precast AGM also took place with British Precast president Alan Smith of Brett Group and our new British Precast Director, Nick Gorst, at its helm. Of the event, Nick said “The PRECAST event is a great way to bring manufacturing members and associate members together so that they can all be updated on recent developments in the marketplace, renew contacts and forge new relationships. We are particularly grateful to all the speakers and the exhibitors for making PRECAST2019 the success that it was.”
